When you format a drive you can give it a volume name but the format also gives the drive a ramdon serial number which you can not change except if you reformat the drive in which case the format will give a new serial number to the drive. My question is how can you view the serial number of you drive and/or retrieve it? I don't want to change it, would like to use it to protect code projects.
