: Dude, if you want a full working version of DOS 6.22 you have to create a multiboot system.
: 1. Nuke your hard drive with a partitioning tool. This can be done by booting from a DOS 6.X disk or with many other open source tools.
: 2. Insert your DOS 6.22 install disk #1.
: 3. Install DOS. Partition and Format if prompted to do so.
: 4. Boot from your Windows NT CD (2k, XP, WS3, Vista, etc.
: 5. Install to the unpartitioned space. DOS 6.X can only install to a maximum of 2 GB partition so you should have lots of available HDD space on any current system.
: 6. Install Windows NT ver. X.
: 7. Rebooting at the end of the install will bring you to a "multi-boot menu" that will give you the choice of booting to "MS DOS" or to your installed version of Windows NT.
: Of course... when settting up a multi-boot system you should always start with the lowest common deominator.
: Of course... you could always create a Virtual PC DOS 6.22 system...
: : : I've seen several messages on this forum saying the latest versions of Windows don't provide a full version of DOS. Is there a way I can dig out my old DOS 6.2 disks and put a full version of DOS on my hard disk? Maybe on a 2nd partition or a 2nd DOS-based hard disk?
