How do I get expanded memory allocation for DOS version of lotus 123

I cannot get my DOS LOTUS 123 to allocate expanded memory on new computer no matter what I try. It works flawlessly on a similar Gateway Media Center XP computer. Versions of DOS are the same on both systems, as are all settings in the PIF shortcut. I've tried everything, HELP please. Bob
