Hi: I have tried to install DOS 5.00 on a 10GB hard disk and I never could. I tried in two different computers, always allocating 100 MG, in the first partition. I tried using FDISK from 5.00, FDISK from Windows 95 and cfdisk from Linux with file system ID = 06. I boot with the installation floppy disk, follow the setup instructions, and everything goes well. Then I boot, BIOS says "Looking for boot record in floppy..OK". And then the screen is filled with meaningless characters and the machine hangs. On a 2GB hard disk, instead, I had no problem.
Does the hard disk size matter? I thought it doesn't, as long as I use the first partition and make it sufficiently small.
